These terms cover the Deskthaw website, the preorder, and the Deskthaw Mac app once it ships. Deskthaw is made by Anton, a sole proprietor in Massachusetts, United States. Questions go to hello@deskthaw.com.

What a preorder buys

A preorder is $29, paid once, and buys a licence to the Deskthaw Mac app for you, on the Macs you use. The first five hundred preorders include lifetime updates. After that the price is $39 with a year of updates, and the app keeps working after the year ends. There are no percentage sales, ever: the capped preorder and launch week at the same price are the only deals.

Who sells it

Preorders are sold through Link, Stripe's merchant-of-record service. Stripe is the seller of record: it charges your card, collects and remits any sales tax, sends the receipt, and handles disputes. The charge appears on your statement as LINK.COM* DESKTHAW. Prices are shown before tax: in the United States and Canada, sales tax is added at checkout based on your address; elsewhere the price you see includes any VAT or GST.

Refunds

A preorder is refundable in full at any time before the app ships, and for thirty days after it ships. If Deskthaw never ships, every preorder is refunded. Email hello@deskthaw.com and the refund goes out the same week, to the original payment method. Stripe may also process a refund directly if you contact Link support.

Delivery and trial

The app is expected in early 2027. If that date slips, every preorder gets an email with the new date, and the refund promise above stands throughout. When the app ships, you get a download link and licence by email at the address you paid with. The app requires macOS 13 or later. At launch there is also a 14-day trial with everything unlocked and no card, so nobody has to buy blind. Windows and Linux are not promised; if they are built later, your licence covers them.

Not medical advice

Deskthaw shows short, general desk stretches. It is not a medical device, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan, and it does not know your body. Stop any stretch that hurts. If you have an injury, a condition, or pain that does not go away, see a doctor or physiotherapist before following any exercise, including these.

Acceptable use

Do not resell, sublicense, or redistribute the app or its licence, and do not use the website's forms to send spam or automated traffic. Deskthaw may refuse or refund an order that breaks these terms.

Warranty and liability

The website and the app are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind beyond what the law does not allow to be excluded. To the extent the law allows, Deskthaw's total liability to you for anything arising from the website, the preorder, or the app is limited to the amount you paid. Nothing here limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, where the law does not allow that.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States. Changes carry a new date at the top; changes that affect an existing preorder are announced by email before they apply, and you can refund instead of accepting them.
